Are scriptures missing from the Bible?
by tika ini have heard that the bible as we know it today is not in it's entirety.
i feel that this is deceptive and had people argue that the present day bible is how god intended us to read it because that is all we need/ it is presented how he wants us to have it.
i don't buy that and feel that god wouldn't "hide" any of the holy scriptures as men have done.

Ok I changed some of the biased wording and added the fact that the WTS had paid out around 16 million as reported by NBC. I felt it needed to be added as the original poster said no congregation has been found guilty in civil court.

JW's and Internet. Wikipedia?
by Burger Time injh posted a thread about how wikipedia clearly shows how goofy the doctrine of jw's has been in changing over the years.
so it makes me wonder could wikipedia be the driving force in the no "independent" study?
i know that my whole family uses wikipedia often and use it as a respected source when researching things.

Thanks for everyone's replies. As far as the no independent research I know all about the shakeup in the early 80's and the hard line approach. It seems though that they have again cracked down hard, harder then when I remember (90's to early 2000). It seems that sites like Wikipedia which offer more info then a real encyclopedia is VERY dangerous for a JW. At least obvious "apostate" sites are easily recognizable. With Wikipedia it just seems like a normal thing and you can't help but look and read. That's all I was saying.

Did you read the whole Bible when you were a JW?
by outofthebox inafter an informal poll in my congregation (and many awkward responses) i found out that almost nobody had read the whole bible ever, not even the elders (surprise!).
brothers and sisters with 20, 30, 40 and 50 years as jws don't know what the bible says.
so, if god decides that a test is coming, will they pass it?
